ISO is a collaborative brand by three designers consisting of Okaniwa of The viridi-anne, Nishida of DEVOA, and Ito of individual sentiments.Unlike conventional collaborations, where designers from different industries or genres work together to create a single product, each designer takes on a different part, like members of a band, to cooperatively create one piece. Founded in 2024 based on this experimental approach, each of the participating brands has over 15 years of experience.Based on this experimental approach, ISO was founded in 2024.Each brand has been in business for more than 15 years, and the brand concept is based on the momentary individuality and essential origins of three such substances (brands) becoming one. Okaniwa and Ito are mainly responsible for garment design, and Nishida for textile design.ISO does not present its collections in separate seasons, such as spring/summer and autumn/winter, but rather for the entire year at a time.ISO's designs are characterized by quality, simplicity, and tranquility, with each item never being eccentric.Just as a band or orchestra layers the tones of different instruments to bring change and gravitas to the music, so it is by layering and coordinating them that they are transformed into a intricate, new style.The textiles are all made focusing on blends of two natural fibers, such as camel hair with linen, or silk with wool, emphasizing the expression created by these mixed materials.The colors are also created by dyeing ambiguous intermediate colors at the yarn stage and expressing the different colored yarns as mixed colors in a single fabric.
