Designed based on the fatigue shirt, formally known as the combat tropical coat.
Originally introduced in the early 1960s for tropical climates in the Vietnam theater, it can also be used as a light outer layer perfect for summer weather, thanks to its generously roomy silhouette that catches air and its open-collar design.
Designed with four large pockets and elbow patches.
The cuffs have a three-stage adjustment function.
This fabric is woven using a total of three yarn colors―two in the warp and one in the weft. After setting the target color, the components contained in that color are broken down and extracted into three elements: 1 Base (the foundational tone), 2 Hi-light (the brightest element), and 3 Noise (the discordant, impure element).
By creating new colors that emphasize each of these elements and then weaving them together again, a solid color full of depth and shadow is achieved―something that can never be produced by simple piece dyeing alone.
This shirt fabric was arrived at through extensive testing of the ideal balance of yarn quality, yarn count, weave density, and even the texture and wrinkling after washing, resulting in a golden ratio for comfort.
A frost finish is applied to the shirt fabric to express a faded, sun-bleached appearance.
