About CHIAHUNG SU

Designer : Chiahung Su

Concept : Chiahung Su, originally from Taiwan, established his namesake brand after several years of custom tailoring men's suits in Taiwan and earning a Master's in Fashion Design Technology from the London College of Fashion. He debuted his brand at the London Collection in 2020.

The brand concept, "Cultural Historical Sustainability," explores various narratives ranging from the era of immigrants in Southeast Asian countries to the culture and traditions of modern indigenous people in Taiwan, as well as the history and development of East Asia, fusing these elements into their creations.

His works, which incorporate tailoring details into various elements such as traditional Eastern garments and Western vintage, feature complex and delicate colors dyed with natural dyes in their own atelier, and fabrics with handmade textures and roughness, exuding beauty in their imperfection and the emotion that arises over time.

The fabrics and dyes used in his creations are almost entirely natural, with Japanese vintage fabrics and traditional handwoven textiles from Taiwan's indigenous tribes carefully crafted from hand-dyeing to the final hand-sewn stitches, using traditional artisanal techniques passed down through generations.
