A wrap skirt made from “Jacquard Denim,” a signature textile that TAAKK has continued to refine since the brand’s launch, developed as a genderless styling proposal.
Designed as a tool to expand the range of men’s styling.
With “Simulated Vintage” as the theme, it features a multi-structure woven fabric in which aging is fixed as the weave structure itself.
“Whiskers” and “fading” from actually worn vintage denim are scanned and digitized as pattern data; areas of fading and damage are not added as post-processing, but are designed at the “weave structure” stage and woven in as a pattern through changes in the structure.
Rather than expressing fading as “dye peeling,” it is expressed through “adding colored yarns and structure,” and details such as the whisker areas being expressed by weft floats rather than depressions from abrasion allow jacquard’s fine unevenness to cast shadows and generate depth not found in prints.
The construction adopts an asymmetric wrap structure in which a single piece of cloth is wrapped around the waist, creating overlapping fabric at the front and forming an asymmetrical hemline.
The boldly overlapping front wrap construction and the fringe finish created by leaving the hem raw express a coexistence of elegance and wildness.
After weaving, the fabric is washed, bleached, and treated with destroy processing, fusing realistic aging with the precision of a woven textile.
Although it looks like intense distressing, it feels thick and smooth to the touch, and because the damaged areas are also composed through the weave structure as “designed deterioration,” tear strength and abrasion resistance are maintained.
With a solid thickness comparable to standard jeans at 13.5 oz, it has properties that help the silhouette resist collapsing thanks to the high-density weave.
Because of its firmness, when wrapped around the body the cloth does not fall straight down vertically; instead, it spreads outward to draw a flared silhouette or an A-line.
An item that lets you enjoy “double aging,” where real wear-induced fading layers on top of the jacquard’s “simulated fading.”
