From among these, we will highlight new arrivals from the D.HYGEN 25–26 AW (Autumn/Winter) collection—available at both FASCINATE_THE R (Shinsaibashi, Osaka) and FASCINATE KYOTO (Kawaramachi, Kyoto)—focusing on the new hooded jacket and slim pants.

This noteworthy collection adds fresh, season-specific nuance to items that have long been developed as brand staples.

Food jacket created in collaboration with craftsmen in Kojima, Okayama

First up is the brand's iconic high-neck hooded jacket.

This piece is part of a collaboration series continuing from last season with craftsmen based in Kojima, Okayama Prefecture, where some of the world's foremost denim-processing experts gather.

Infusing the brand's weighty worldview with the taste of traditional Japanese "sashiko," everything from the stitchwork to the repair treatments is done entirely by hand.

Each garment is imbued with time and technique.

A one-of-a-kind expression born from dialogue between designer and artisans

The jacket's look was created through close dialogue between the designer and the artisans. The designer personally visited the factory, sharing ideas directly while repeatedly prototyping details such as colour tone, stitch thickness, and thread spacing.

The result is realistic fading and fabric character as if worn for years, along with repair traces that seem to narrate a hard-worn history.
Though each treatment appears random, when viewed as a whole they are arranged to convey a certain deliberate calm.

A new relaxed silhouette born from experimentation

The silhouette evolves—continuing from last season—into a new fit with a touch more room overall.

Born from the challenge of "how to express D.HYGEN's world within a relaxed silhouette," this shape is markedly easier to wear than before.

While the length is set on the long side, a gentle taper toward the hem is carefully engineered so the waist area doesn't feel bulky.

This length was determined after many rounds of sample making.

Paired with slim pants it emphasises a vertical line, and with joggers or cropped pants it leaves an appropriate space between hem and footwear, preventing a heavy impression.

Its high versatility that doesn't depend on the bottoms' silhouette is one of this jacket's major attractions.

An original loopback fabric where lightness and heft coexist

The material is an originally developed cotton fabric the designer proudly calls "as good as loopback gets."

Using an untwisted-yarn knitting method, the fibres hold air to create a plush, towel-like hand.

While the brushed backing secures warmth, the thickness is kept in check so it can be worn from early autumn through early spring.

When you put it on, you'll first notice a lightness that belies its appearance. There's almost no weight on the shoulders, and the fabric's stretch naturally follows the bend and extend of the elbows.

A heavy look created by distressing, and a lively comfort that never hinders everyday movement.

This pleasing contradiction embodies D.HYGEN's pursuit of balancing functionality with its world view.

We paired it with this season's new layered T-shirt as an inner.

The front panel opens and closes with a zipper, and when worn as an inner layer the glimpse of the zipper becomes a subtle accent.

D.HYGEN's matte, solid material sensibility grows even more compelling when combined with pieces from other artisan brands.

For example, the subdued gleam of WERKSTATT MUNCHEN silver jewellery accentuates the jacket's black, while RIGARDS' distinctive frames add tension and a fashion-forward air around the face.

Combining textures from different brands brings depth and complexity to the styling.

Straight slim pants inspired by music culture

Next is the straight-slim silhouette pants introduced last year.

They keep the same sizing as the curve-slim pants that have continued since the brand's founding, but use new cutting to realise a simpler straight silhouette.

First, to achieve a deep black, the fabric is dyed using fade-resistant ‘reactive dyeing.'

On top of that, a ‘hard stone wash' with large stones reproduces wear marks and fading like a well-worn pair.

Artisans then add damage and repairs by hand, and finally a subtle ‘coating' is applied to the surface to impart a leather-like muted sheen and help resist soiling.

These multiple processes create a depth that goes beyond mere distressing.

Respect for crustcore and D.HYGEN's contemporary interpretation

The design's inspiration is "crustcore," a music genre born in mid-1980s Britain, and the fashion that symbolised its scene.

It was characterised by a black base, intentionally soiled and torn garments, and scraps (patches) sewn on haphazardly in multiple layers.

Crucially, this is not a simple reproduction of a past style.

While paying respect to music cultures that influenced the designer—such as metal and hardcore punk—it is reinterpreted in a contemporary way through D.HYGEN's own filter.
