The material uses carefully selected fabric woven in the Enshu area of Shizuoka Prefecture, a Japanese cotton weaving region. A technique called kasuri dyeing, which dyes a single thread in multiple colors, creates a complex, subdued color and a plump texture with surface irregularities. The faded-looking stripe pattern evokes a Japanese aesthetic and gives the fabric a unique depth. The thin, light fabric also makes it suitable for long wear from spring through early autumn. To create a texture that is between new and worn-in, a coating is applied to slightly suppress fuzz. Machine washable.
