The 26SS model is a Vans-style version introduced as a new type of the Spiky Sneakers.
For the 26SS model, a new “distressing” treatment has been applied.
This matches the farm-and-fishery theme called “Itadakimasu,” and the design reflects the idea of shoes soiled from farm work.
Manufacturing is handled by a company founded by someone who was a direct junior to designer Ino during his MIHARAYASUHIRO days.
The designer himself also handled sneaker planning back in his MIHARAYASUHIRO days.
This distinctive spiky mold is very labor-intensive, so only a limited number of factories can make it.
This season marks the third season for the Spiky Sneakers series, and the quality has improved.
The spikes, which used to be soft, are now firmer.
Improvements are made each season, and cushioning has been added to the sole to improve walking comfort.
Another feature is that the last is made very large.
If you size down approximately a Y size from your usual size, you will get a just-right fit.
For those who like a voluminous look, it is also recommended to deliberately size up and add an insole.
In styling, when paired with wider curved pants, the spikes at the toe create an eye-catching look at the feet.
When wearing wide pants, only the tip is visible, but the spikes make a great accent.
Conversely, paired with narrow pants, you can make the sneakers stand out.
