doulet 26 Spring Summer Collection.
This shirt is a collaboration with the venture company Synflux.
This shirt is designed with the fish 'hiraki' (the way a fish is split open) as a hint. By utilizing Synflux's AI algorithms and instructing the AI to 'create a shirt that does not waste fabric (produces no discard)', the pattern generated by that algorithm served as the basis.
Designs that reduce waste and the preservational wisdom of drying to prolong life.
Both are efforts to make the most of limited life. You take the time to split, dry, and savor. When such wisdom and technique intersect, the meaning of 'itadakimasu' may be born there.
This initiative has been carried out since the 25SS season, but last time it was expressed as 'stitchwork only'.
This time it has been developed further and updated into a design that connects a single flat pattern with zippers, allowing it to be opened and closed.
The material uses a striped fabric treated with a wrinkle finish.
When the zippers are closed it forms a three-dimensional shape; rather than a flat piece, a deliberately non-straight, asymmetrical three-dimensional pattern is employed.
This asymmetrical silhouette inevitably emerged during the pattern-drafting process to avoid wasting fabric, because creating a perfectly neat silhouette would inevitably leave excess material.
When worn, a distinctive drape forms, and even the distortion of the stripes comes to be seen as character―it's a curious shirt.
The silhouette is finished in the brand's characteristic oversized fit.
The greatest feature is that the opening and closing of the zippers allow for a variety of wearing styles.
For example, you can open the sleeve zipper and put your arm through it, or pull your body out through the back zipper to wear it by slipping it on from the front only; various stylings can be enjoyed.
It also has functionality, such as creating ventilation when partially opened.
Note that, for design reasons, the zippers are not removable (the sliders cannot be taken out).
