Description
A scarf made from hand-dyed silk using the "Tornado Shibori" technique. With a size of 70cm square, it can be folded into a triangle or wrapped in a long, narrow shape, allowing for various styling options.
◎ The fabric is woven on a shuttle loom using silk filament yarn from Brazil in the Ishikawa region. The dyeing is done in the Arimatsu Narumi Tie-Dyeing area of Aichi Prefecture, where each piece is carefully hand-dyed by a Shibori craftsman using the "Tornado Shibori" technique.*
(*Tornado Shibori: A technique where the fabric is wrapped in a spiral with thread while in a cylindrical shape, resembling a dragon, hence the name "Tornado Shibori.")
The hand-dyed black fabric is discharge-dyed using the Tornado Shibori technique, and color is added to the discharged areas through additional dyeing.
※ Please note that with this dyeing method, each piece is dyed individually at the fabric stage, resulting in unique patterns for each item. Therefore, no two pieces are exactly alike.
