Description
An open-collar shirt made using fabric printed with several types of skeleton imagery.
The skeletal illustrations printed on the shirt are taken from the engravings of “De Humani Corporis Fabrica,” widely regarded as the most important anatomical book in medical history, published in 1543 by Andreas Vesalius.
Famous poses such as the “thinking skeleton” and the “gravedigger” holding a shovel are depicted.
Although open-collar shirts are typically short-sleeved, this design intentionally uses long sleeves and adds a pocket on the left side seam, creating a sense of dissonance characteristic of THE VIRIDI-ANNE’s design approach.
The motifs also link to the roots of DEVOA designer Mr. Nishida, making this a special item that reflects the shared sensibilities and origins of both Mr. Okaniwa and Mr. Nishida.
The fabric is a tightly twisted cotton with minimal fuzz and a pleasant feel, finished with an aged, distressed treatment to evoke a vintage-like, worn-in atmosphere.
It has a smooth, slightly lightweight drape and can be worn throughout the year.
The silhouette is finished in a slightly relaxed fit.
