Description
"PALERMO BLESS" is a collaborative shoe that breathes MASU’s spirit into "PALERMO," one of PUMA’s signature models born in the 1980s as a training shoe.
From the sole to the upper, MASU’s angel icon is scattered throughout.
This is a distinctly MASU design approach that reimagines the mud and dirt that splash back with wear as golden angels.
Everything from the vintage-feel leather upper to the sole is created in specially ordered colors, down to the details.
The shoelaces are woven with delicate gold lam_ thread for an accent.
An off-white set of laces is also included, allowing for a more chic styling option.
The shoe box features an embossed print that expresses the tan lines left when untying a gift that has been stored for many years, imbued with the wish for this pair to be loved across time.
The roots of "Palermo" lie in the "terrace culture" that arose in British football stadiums from the late ’70s to the ’80s.
As passionate supporters gathered on the stadium terraces, they competed to wear high-end European sportswear and sneakers, establishing the style.
At the time, PUMA developed a "City Series" paying homage to major European cities such as London and Oslo, and "Palermo" was named after the city of Palermo on Sicily, Italy, as part of that series.
It enjoyed immense popularity as a staple in football stadiums back then, but later disappeared from the market, becoming a legendary model known only to insiders.
The T-shaped suede reinforcement at the toe and the brown gum rubber outsole that further enhances the vintage feel are distinctive details found in training shoes of the era.
Its retro look and storytelling blend beautifully with contemporary trends.
