During the wartime period, quality control inevitably declined, and even within the same Levi’s lot number, specifications and fabric characteristics could vary greatly depending on the production run―one factor that elevates the value of WWII-era models. In particular, only a little over a dozen jackets worldwide have been confirmed with pocket bags made from leftover flannel shirt fabric, used as a material-saving measure. This is a late-war model created by sampling one of those rare originals.
