TRAMAROSSA is a brand founded in 1967 in Vicenza, Veneto, northeastern Italy, by Urbano Chemello, a tailor who pioneered the idea of applying tailoring techniques to denim. Thirty-six years later, in 2003, his sons formally relaunched the brand as "Sartoria Tramarossa," continuing his legacy. The brand remains committed to local production in the Veneto region-renowned for its denim-upholding the artisanal craftsmanship of "Made in Veneto" as its core identity. The name "Tramarossa" originates from the red weft thread ("trama rossa" in Italian) used in the selvedge denim by Urbano during the brand's early years. It symbolizes Tramarossa roots in traditional, high-quality denim. The brand's design philosophy revolves around the concept of "sartorial denim," which integrates the techniques and principles of classic tailoring into denim production to achieve refined silhouettes. This includes tailored pant constructions that enhance the fit around the waist. The attention to detail is evident in features like the signature scissor logo-an homage to tailoring-and a patented personalization system allowing customers to affix metal initials to their jeans' pockets. Tramarossa places great emphasis on the use of high-quality and innovative materials.
