This season features the arrival of 9 styles, including jackets perfect for early spring, cardigans, and shirts. The lineup fully embodies the unique evolution of mfpen as it continues to carve its own path in the post-"Quiet Luxury" era. The inspiration for this collection lies at the intersection of the "Mall Goth" subculture that colored the 1990s alternative scene and modern "Corporate Uniforms." The design process began as a thought experiment: "What kind of clothes would those who once leaned into a maximalist aesthetic wear now that they have grown up to become office workers?"
This season, mfpen explores the theme of how to infuse individual identity and a rebellious spirit into clothing within the constraints of society's systems and mandatory business wear, rather than simply offering a nostalgic reproduction of a subculture. It maintains the norms required by the sterile office environment while allowing an unsettling presence or a dark spirituality to drift through. The tension generated between uniformity and identity adds depth to the entire collection.
The color palette has shifted toward an extremely stoic and muted range, intentionally running counter to current vibrant global trends. It features washed graphite reminiscent of asphalt and concrete, oatmeal that remains understated despite its natural origins, and muted black that looks as if it has faded over many years. By utilizing tones with minimal saturation and micro-stripes, the collection conveys a quiet yet firm sense of rebellion and depth.
In terms of silhouette and material, the collection follows the basic structure of traditional business wear while intentionally disrupting proportions.
