The highly popular Cake Bag, which also appeared in the 2026SS season.

There is a major update for the 2026SS season.

While it was released in a quilted construction in 25SS and 25–26AW, the 26SS season sees an update to matte leather.

The matte leather, characterized by its subdued, calm texture, develops a richer depth and a soft sheen over time as the oils gradually absorb, allowing you to enjoy its aging process.

The overall impression changes dramatically compared to the quilted version, so we highly recommend experiencing it in person at the store.

Detail Update: From Silver to Gold

The round rivets, which were silver up through 25AW since the initial release, have been updated to gold.

Additionally, a chain that was not included in 25SS and 25AW is now added for the 26SS season.

This chain also comes in a gold finish.

The combination of matte leather and gold accents elevates the bag to a jewelry-like presence.

The chain is designed in a shorter length, allowing for both shoulder carry and hand carry.

Compared to 24AW, the chain is noticeably slimmer.

The pairing of matte leather and gold feels refined rather than excessive, resulting in a luxurious finish.

Mini Size for Accessory-Like Styling

Following 25AW, the mini size is also available for the 26SS season.

The mini size, like the regular size, comes with a chain.

Unlike the 25AW version, which was designed to be attached to belt loops or bags, the addition of the chain allows it to be used like a mini bag.

The chain and rivets are finished in gold.

In the 25AW season, the PETIT size was newly added to the lineup.

You can attach it to your existing bag or a CAKE BAG to enjoy a variety of styling arrangements.

As the capacity is limited, it is best recommended for use as an accessory.

In the 2025SS season, the Mini size of the CAKE BAG was updated.

With two material variations—glossy cow leather embossed with a quilted pattern, and metallic leather finished with foil—the design gains added visual depth and playfulness.

While retaining its structural beauty defined by seamless construction, round studs, and a magnetic handle, the three-dimensional pattern reflects light from multiple angles, enhancing its presence.

Available in three colors—Black, Brown, and Silver—the lineup ensures versatility and ease of integration into everyday styling.

A chain is not included; instead, a studded belt was released as a separate option.

The brand’s approach of “recontextualization,” described as “something you feel you’ve seen before, yet looks new,” becomes more clearly expressed this season through the refreshed materials.

The CAKE BAG first made its debut in the 24AW season.

The initial release of the CAKE BAG dates back to the 2024AW season.

It was offered in two sizes, Standard and Mini, with a color scheme based on black accented by white.

Designer Shinpei Goto has stated that he wants “wrinkles, scratches, and even stains to become memories,” proposing a relationship in which the owner and the bag share a story through aging and use.

A Distinctive Design Inspired by a Cake Box

Based on the square form of a cake box, the design features softened lines with rounded corners that leave a gentle impression.

What Is the CAKE BAG? From Concept to Size and How to Use It

The core concept of this bag is “to allow people to experience, in everyday life, the sense of happiness many feel when carrying a cake box.”

The excitement and anticipation associated with cakes—symbols of special moments such as birthdays and anniversaries—have been translated into the form of a bag, so they can be carried and enjoyed at any time.

Designer Shinpei Goto views fashion as something that “enriches and brings joy to daily life and to one’s entire life,” and the CAKE BAG is the purest embodiment of that philosophy.

This universal concept was inspired by a single scene witnessed by Goto.

On a rainy day, he saw a man—presumably a father—walking carefully while cradling a cake box so it would not get wet.

In that gentle gesture of protecting something precious, Goto found meaning beyond the ordinary, saying that he “saw a hero” in that moment.

This inspiration is deeply connected to the image of masculinity that MASU continues to explore.

The Standard size can hold a wallet, smartphone, and a 500 mL plastic bottle.
