A stylish backpack that updates the long-running Tower Ruck (a staple since Spring/Summer 2015) for today’s increasingly casual business scene, making it suitable for both casual and business use.
Keeping the fundamental design and details, the overall size has been enlarged, the main pocket―previously placed outside the top handle―has been moved to the back, and the zipper changed to a double-opening type that allows access from both sides.
It is designed to fit a 15-inch laptop horizontally.
The base inclines upward from back to outside so the contents sit closer to the spine, bringing the center of gravity toward the body to reduce perceived weight.
The leather is the brand’s signature cow mineral leather, tanned in Tochigi, Japan’s famed leather region, using traditional pit tanning.
After impregnating the leather with oils during tanning, a high-temperature press draws oil to the surface, creating a distinctive luster in a special finish.
This process produces a uniquely springy resilience and a clear, transparent gloss.
By keeping the thickness to 1.0_1.2mm, it balances strength and lightness.
The rich patina unique to vegetable-tanned leather―where character deepens over time―is another major appeal.
All zippers have been upgraded to YKK’s premium Excella line for smooth operation.
