【Design】
This special tote bag was born from 16 years of dialogue since the designers met in Paris in 2008. The concept was to recreate the paper bags handed to customers at "OGATA Paris" as durable leather items with lasting value. This attempt to elevate a temporary consumable into a permanent object strongly reflects the brand’s philosophy of "slow culture."
The elegant horizontal "boat shape," reminiscent of Japanese sasabune boats, forms the basic shape. The greatest feature is the 2WAY design: by raising the original washi paper parts arranged inside, it transforms into a vertical tote bag. The opening uses a minimal design with built-in magnets. The handle base is decorated with the brand’s signature patterned weaving, combining design accent and strength.

【Silhouette & Storage Capacity】
In its boat shape, the softness of the material creates beautiful drapes. Using the attached bottom board helps maintain a stable form. When the internal washi paper parts are raised into the vertical form, the size becomes practical enough to hold A4 documents and a 13-inch laptop. The height of the washi paper parts can be adjusted freely, allowing for various expressions according to storage needs and style.

【Material Texture & Aging】
The main leather is "TEA HUSK LEATHER," made by recycling Itoen tea leaves. It is tanned with tannins derived from tea husks and plant tannins, finished by glove leather techniques. The texture is very soft with an elegant and subtle luster, exuding luxury.
The internal parts responsible for the transformation use a unique material with a leather-like feel, made by specially coating pulp from washi paper raw materials. It is extremely thin and flexible, developing delicate and complex wrinkles like crumpled washi paper with use, growing into a texture unique to its owner. This aging, which values even scratches and wrinkles as unique character, expresses the Japanese spirit of "wabi-sabi," finding beauty in imperfection.

■ Ideal Wearing Season

The materials and design do not have a specific seasonality and can be incorporated into styling year-round. Combining the robustness of leather and the lightness of washi-derived material, it works to elevate the whole coordinate from light spring-summer outfits to autumn-winter coat styles.
