【Design】
The basic form is a horizontal "boat shape" with graceful curves reminiscent of the traditional Japanese sasabune. The bag's biggest feature is its 2WAY design, which skillfully manipulates internal parts made of an original material derived from Japanese paper to transform into a vertical tote bag capable of holding A4 files and a 13-inch PC. The folding part's height can be freely adjusted, and when used as a boat shape, it folds onto the bottom to maintain an elegant form. The handle bases feature the brand's iconic "pattern weaving," serving both as a design accent and a robust reinforcement. The opening has a minimal design with a built-in magnet for smooth opening and closing. Additionally, a removable bottom board is included, providing stable form when attached and allowing the supple drape of the leather when removed. Inside, there is one zip pocket and one flap pocket, ensuring practical usability.

【Concept and Background】
The "OGATA TOTE" was born after 16 years of long dialogue starting from a meeting in Paris in 2008 between Shinichiro Ogata and designer Daisuke Iwanaga. The inspiration is the paper bag handed to customers at "OGATA Paris." The attempt to elevate a paper bag, originally a temporary consumable, into a leather item with lasting value embodies the philosophy called "slow culture." Not just a tool, but a story that marks time with its owner deeply defines this bag’s value.

【Materials and Aging】
The main exterior leather is a special "TEA HUSK LEATHER" developed as part of Itoen’s tea leaf recycling system. It is tanned using tannins from tea leaves and plant tannins, finished with a method also used for baseball gloves, producing a refined, subtle sheen and a soft, luxurious unique texture. The internal components responsible for transformation use an original brand material coated with a special coating on pulp derived from Japanese paper. This very thin and soft material acquires delicate and complex wrinkles, as if repeatedly folded paper, the more it is used. The product does not complete its new state; scratches and creases born from daily use become the owner's unique character, enriching its value. This expresses the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic, finding beauty in imperfection.
