The motif is an “aged zebra.” The way its stripe contrast fades over time―blurring the boundary between white and black―is overlapped with the designer’s theme of “the ambiguity of truth.” Based on this inspiration, the zebra pattern is expressed not by changing yarn colors, but solely through differences in knit structure as a jacquard. Though monochrome, the stripes subtly emerge depending on light and surface relief, expressing the erosion of firm facts over time. Rib knit finishes the cuffs and hem.
