The fabric is traditional hand-spun, hand-woven Khadi cotton made in the Varanasi region of India. The slow, low-tension weaving produces a thick yet very soft and lightweight texture filled with air that machine weaving cannot replicate. The uneven texture of hand-spun yarn―including slubs and neps―adds a rustic and rich character to the fabric surface. The high breathability and moisture-wicking properties derived from the yarn structure and weaving density provide comfort even in Japan’s humid climate. Additionally, the air layer between fibers (dead air) functions as a natural temperature regulator, releasing heat in summer and retaining warmth in winter. Repeated wear and home washing gradually relax the fibers and cause the fabric to bloom, creating a beautiful aging process.

The Khadi cotton’s natural temperature regulation makes it suitable for a wide range of seasons.

・Spring, Autumn: Ideal as main outerwear over cut-and-sew or shirts. The fabric’s warmth and breathability maintain comfortable temperatures even in seasons with temperature differences.
・Early summer, Early winter: High breathability makes it perfect for slightly chilly days in early summer. In winter, it can be layered under coats or down vests as a middle layer.
