Using a rare vintage loopwheel machine, dominant until the 1960s, the jersey fabric is knitted at an extremely slow pace. Without applying extra tension to the yarn, and relying only on the fabric’s own weight, it knits about one meter per hour, creating a uniquely voluminous, airy texture with a softness close to hand-knit fabrics. Despite the densely knit structure typical of this jersey, it feels surprisingly soft and lightweight. After fabric dyeing, a layer of sumi-dyeing is applied to produce unmatched depth and uneven coloration. Resistant to distortion from wear and washing, the fabric ages beautifully, adapting to the body with time.
