doublet 26 Spring Summer Collection.
This is the 26SS model of the “Spiky Sneakers,” continued from the 25AW season.
For the 26SS model this season, a new “distressing” treatment has been applied.
This matches the farm-and-fishery theme called “Itadakimasu,” and the colorways use yellows and greens inspired by vegetables like corn and broccoli.
The design reflects the idea of shoes soiled from farm work.
These sneakers are manufactured by a company founded by someone who was a direct junior to designer Ino during his MIHARAYASUHIRO days.
The designer himself also handled sneaker planning back when he was at MIHARAYASUHIRO.
This is the third season for the line, with improvements made each season.
The quality has improved; the spikes, which used to be soft, are now firmer.
Also, cushioning has been added to the sole to improve comfort when walking.
The biggest feature is that the last is made very large.
If you size down approximately a Y size from your usual size, you will get a just-right fit.
For those who like a voluminous look, it's also recommended to deliberately size up and add an insole.
In styling, when paired with wider curved pants, the spikes at the toe create an eye-catching look at the feet.
When wearing wide pants, only the tip of the shoe is visible, but the spikes make a great accent.
Conversely, paired with narrow pants, the overall volume of the sneaker can be emphasized.
