The traditional Japanese reinforcement technique of sashi-ko is used decoratively to powerfully express the brand's world view. On the left sleeve, a subtle embroidery of the brand's initial "F" adds a detail that reflects attention to every part.

【Material Texture & Wear Comfort】
The fabric is a sturdy, substantial cotton jersey that feels smooth on the skin and is durable enough to withstand repeated washing.

Notably, the background of the sashi-ko design is at the core of the brand. Designer Manabu Tsuyoshi draws inspiration from vintage sashi-ko fabrics and work garments he has collected, analyzing stitch spacing, thread thickness, and geometric patterns. The traditional handcraft technique is reinterpreted in modern production processes using special sewing machines and jacquard looms from Okayama Prefecture.

The stitches create a textured surface on the fabric that, through repeated wear and washing, causes indigo dye on the stitches to fade first, producing a unique "wear marks" effect. This engineered dimensional aging effect cannot be achieved on flat fabrics. Originally developed in the early Edo period northern regions as a practical reinforcement and insulation technique, sashi-ko is elevated to modern daily wear, embodying FDMTL's distinct philosophy.
