Since the 2005 A/W season, GUIDI has continuously released the iconic “One-piece Back Zip Boot,” which has become a symbol of the brand. This model is based on the highly popular mid-cut “788Z.” Its most distinctive feature is the “one-piece construction”―the upper through to the lining is molded three-dimensionally from a single piece of leather without seams. This minimizes stitching, achieving a sleek shape and a unique fit that wraps the entire foot.

【Silhouette & Fit】
With wear, the leather adapts to the shape of the owner’s foot, beautifully developing large drapes (wrinkles) on the shaft―a key charm of these boots. The sole uses a double sole construction, combining a heavy feel and style. Additionally, this model is selected as a wide fit version (model number ending with X) with a broader width, providing comfortable fitting even to those who found previous models too tight.

【Material & Construction】
The material is high-quality genuine leather richly infused with oil from the prestigious Italian tanner GUIDI. The brand’s hallmark “object dyeing (product dyeing)” is applied at the final finished product stage rather than the leather stage. By employing tumbler dyeing, dye penetrates deeply into the leather core, creating an exceptionally supple, drapable, and unique texture. This artistic approach is possible only because this is a leather factory brand with extensive leather expertise.

【Product Characteristics & Precautions】
GUIDI products intentionally do not use color sealing to maximize enjoyment of the leather’s original texture and beautiful deep aging. Therefore, while they have a sticky texture often described as a “slippery feel,” they are prone to color transfer. Due to the nature of the material, fine scratches, wrinkles, color unevenness, and scuffs may occur, all of which are natural leather characteristics and part of the design. Be especially careful of color transfer to light-colored socks or pant hems during initial wear. As a countermeasure, applying a leather care and waterproof spray all over before use can reduce the risk of color transfer.
