Description
Crossover Long Coat is a stand-collar, semi A-line coat crafted out of a custom needle-punch fabric combining black cotton over a grey wool, nylon, and cashmere base.
While the coat has a structured cut, the soft needle-punch fabric, custom made in Aichi, feels blanket-like while being unlined.
Given the thickness of the fabric, the designer opted for press-snap buttons instead of traditional buttons, as they disappear visually along with two slash pockets by the abdomen.
The diagonal closure and overlapped side vents create a subtle A-line shape. The vents, along with a powermesh insert at the rear hem, add a sense of lightness and movement to the coat.
The back is simple, apart from the trench-inspired rear yoke. The sleeves are long and slim, ending in the signature "broken cuff" where a triangle meets a circle.
