Introduced in the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, the "Crotch Twisted Pants" are one of the most striking designs within the brand's archive. While based on a silhouette reminiscent of the traditional Japanese hakama, the addition of a twist at the crotch area creates a three-dimensional and avant-garde form. The suspenders, which can also be worn over the shoulders, function as hanging accents.
【Silhouette & Fit】
A wide silhouette with room throughout. The fabric moves with the wearer's movements, accentuating the beautiful drape characteristic of wool gabardine. The complex pattern making at the crotch offers a calculated silhouette that shows a completely different expression when stationary and when walking.
【Material Texture & Wearability】
This item uses the premium wool gabardine synonymous with Yohji Yamamoto. The fabric is characterized by its suppleness achieved through high-density weaving and by a refined delicate sheen. A finishing process intentionally reduces setness, creating natural wrinkles and texture (surface unevenness), bringing out the rich and deep character of wool that is not uniform.
